Best-Seller SALE!
Winter is here and so is hot cocoa season! Oh, how I love warm drinks and melty marshmallows and sitting by the fire. It is one of the reasons I love living in Northern BC, because we get a real winter. Bright white snow blankets the ground and trees, the sun shines most days, and the air is fresh and crisp.
We love making hot cocoa and we always make it from scratch. It is just so easy that buying a mix seems a waste and is often very expensive compared to homemade. We also like to make sure we are using the very best chocolate and organic cane sugar, whole milk, and of course, delicious marshmallows.
Here is my quick HOT COCOA RECIPE - serves 4
*In a small pot, add 4 tablespoons organic cocoa powder and 4 tablespoons organic sugar.
*Add 1/2 cup warm water and stir until mostly dissolved
*Over medium heat, warm the syrup until the sugar has dissolved and the cocoa is incorporated
*Add 3 cups whole milk and stir to combine
*Heat to desired temperature
*Pour into mugs and top with marshmallows
